Chrysa & Christos

Wedding in Kastoria

How I met my man…

We met at a rock bar in Larisa when we were students. One night I saw him there, but we didn’t speak, and the next day I found out he had been looking for me. For a whole week I was looking for him and he was looking for me, until the bartender finally gave me Christos’s phone number. I called him immediately, we arranged to meet in the main square, and then we went to what became our favorite spot!

Then, he proposed…

The proposal came one year later, in the main square where we had our first date and shared our first kiss! We were still students, with very little money, and completely in love.

We got married in early September, at the Church of Prophet Elias in Kastoria.

The magic lies in the details!

We went for a rustic style, without losing our Greek, traditional elements.

For the flowers, we used currants, lavender, chamomile, veronica, and amaranth. The bridal bouquet was made of currants, lavender, and veronica.

Every detail had its own magic, because my mother, my friends, and I took care of so many things ourselves. It’s wonderful to create things for your day with the people you love.

The best wedding decision I ever made… and also the worst one!

The best wedding decision I made was to do so many things myself, but it also meant there were many exhausting moments, because I spent three months running between Kastoria, Katerini, Thiva, and Athens. I don’t regret a thing!

To the rhythm of our first dance!

For our first dance, we chose “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” from Dirty Dancing.

If I had to choose one favorite moment!

I couldn’t choose just one, because there were so many! Some of them were the moment I saw Christos at the church, the wedding ceremony itself, and our entrance to the reception to the song “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC.

If I could give some advice to a bride-to-be…

I would tell her to stay calm right up to the end and to be herself. Don’t lose touch with your partner—stay united!

Oh, my wedding dress!

My wedding dress was love at first sight, just like it was with my husband! When I saw it, I said that when I got married, this would be the one. It was dreamy, wonderful, divine!

My experience at Atelier Zolotas was fantastic, and every time I visited I had an amazing time. The Zolotas staff are incredible, and so is the service.

I would like to thank the following people, for turning my dream into a wedding reality…
